Individual Therapy
Approach
I take a relational approach to narrative and collaborative therapies. In a nutshell, this mostly means to me that a) you are the expert in your life, and my job is to support you to come to your own conclusions and goals; b) the problems we face are not inherent to us but something that we have a relationship with, and therefore can communicate with and navigate in new ways; and c) relationships are central to our well-being, and addressing and adjusting patterns of interpersonal interactions is often an important part of our work.
While this post-modern and client-centered approach forms the basis of my work, I am also well-versed in attachment theory, arts-based interventions, and trauma recovery. Each of these can offer essential perspectives and opportunities for growth when exploring a wide range of challenges and goals.
